Flexible-packaging glossary

EVOH

Ethylene vinyl alcohol, a polymer used as an oxygen-barrier layer in some multilayer packaging structures.

Why buyers encounter it

Actual barrier depends on grade, thickness, humidity, adjacent layers, and test conditions. The letters alone do not supply an OTR value.

Use the term carefully

This definition helps interpret a packaging conversation. It does not establish a complete film structure, machine setting, regulatory conclusion, shelf-life result, or approval for a particular application.
