About Matt
Packaging answers worth keeping.
Matt Louie turns recurring flexible-packaging questions into practical guides, buyer tools, and field notes for The Packaging Buyer.
Why this resource exists
I work with manufacturers buying flexible packaging. The same questions appear repeatedly: Why did the price change? Why do I need new plates? What film am I using? Why is it not running correctly? What does reverse print mean? What information belongs in an RFQ?
Those answers are useful beyond a single email. The Packaging Buyer is my independent educational project: a place to document recurring questions, practical buying context, tools, terminology, and anonymized Field Notes from day-to-day packaging work.
What I do in the process
I work with buyers on rollstock, pouches, and poly bags. Sometimes the inquiry arrives as a complete specification. Often it is a photo, a roll label, an art file, and a sentence about what is not working. I help sort out what is known, what is missing, and what the manufacturer needs next.
I bring buyer questions and project evidence into the quote process, keep the work moving, and involve qualified technical teams when a structure, shelf-life, or compliance decision needs their review.
Independent project, real sales work
Matt works directly with manufacturers and packaging buyers on flexible packaging projects—from quoting and artwork to rollstock, pouches, production and second sourcing. The Packaging Buyer is his independent educational project, built around the questions and problems that come up in day-to-day packaging work.
Have a packaging question?
